Draydur Bull Terriers are proud to announce that all our breeding stock have been tested clear for heart, kidney and patella.

Healthy puppies come from healthy parents

Healthy puppies come from healthy parents

We have recently mated one of our females Gypsy, who has had her heart tested clear. Gypsy is from a long line of heart tested clear Draydur Bull Terriers. Gypsy’s Niece, Nephews, Sister, Mother and Gt Grandfather were tested clear also.  Gypsy’s Mother, Father, Sister, Niece and Nephews were all kidney tested clear also.  This does not mean others tested negative it just means either the tests were not done ten years ago or we did not own the animals.

The stud dog we used is also tested clear from heart and kidney disease as was his father before him.

If you are looking for a healthy Bull Terrier then please have a look at our web site and see for yourself.  if you would like to see the test results then please ask

Draydur Bull Terriers are pleased to announce that we have mated our Bitch Gypsy, kazerac Pure and Simple to Chris and Carol Kilpatrick’s Stud Dog Paddy, CH. Nosrettapp Celtic Star of Kilacabar.  Hopefully puppies will be due at the end of October.

Please visit our web site for a full rundown on us here at Draydur Bull Terriers.  Where you can see all our dogs and get to know a little about ourselves.  We are constantly aiming to better the breed and we are proud of our results thus far.  our main objective is to breed Bull Terriers with excellent temperaments aswell as maintaining exellent breed type.  Out of the three breed types we prefer the larger Bull type, all be it they are still very athletic looking and excell in big strong bone and superb muscle definision.  Please view at the bottom of this post the Bitch and Dog that Draydur Bull Terriers have chosen to use for what will hopefully be their next generation of Draydur Bull Terriers.

By continuing to use Stud dogs from the prolific world renound Kilacabar kennels, we hope that our own Draydur kennels will become more and more sucsessful.

Please feel free to leave any questions you would like answered by way of a comment on this blog.  Also why not browse at our other blogs,  you may find some interesting articles for your Bull Terrier needs.

If you have a Bull Terrier with a skin condition (redness, small scabs, hair loss)it is worth asking the vet to do a skin scraping of the worst area.  Viewed under a microscope on a slide.  Ask the vet if he could check your dog for Demodectic Mange.

It is common for Bull Terriers to be associated with poor skin and redness,  if it is an outbreak of Mange sometimes this happens when there is another underlying problem and the imune system has dropped.  If left untreated your beloved family pet could die as a result in extreme cases.  If diagnosed and treated early on the outcome is a speedy recovery.  it is quite common according to vetinary books as well as wikapedia.com in puppies as this is passed on from Dam to puppies during whelp.  Most common affected area’s been the face, chest and paws.  All dogs carry this form it is only certain dogs at certain times in their life can become over run,  useually this can be brought on in times of stress (going to boarding kennels)or as i have said when the dogs imune system is at a low (when in whelp, after an operation or some other clinical problems which causes the imune system to drop).

Why a Bull Terrier?

If you have never had the plesure of owning one of these special dogs, here at Draydur bull Terriers we are interested to find out what makes people decide on a certain breed.  My wife and i had wanted a dog from the moment we moved in to our marital home.  As we love all animals we needed a pet,  my wife did not mind which breed we had but i had always wanted a Bull Terrier, boxer or a staff.  The reason for this was the fact that i had fond memories of meeting one of each on my paper rounds from when i was 13 years old.  The reason i chose a Bull Terrier was the size.  A Bull Terrier was in-between the other two.  Looking back now i believe i made one of the best decisions of my life as life with a Bull Terrier is second to none (in my opinion) and as long as i live i will never have a different breed.  I am still very fond of Boxers, Staffs, Bullmastiffs and Bulldogs to mention but a few, but my wife’s and my heart will always belong to this special breed.                    Draydur Bull  Terriers. info@bullterriersinstaffordshire.co.uk.
