If you have a Bull Terrier with a skin condition (redness, small scabs, hair loss)it is worth asking the vet to do a skin scraping of the worst area.  Viewed under a microscope on a slide.  Ask the vet if he could check your dog for Demodectic Mange.

It is common for Bull Terriers to be associated with poor skin and redness,  if it is an outbreak of Mange sometimes this happens when there is another underlying problem and the imune system has dropped.  If left untreated your beloved family pet could die as a result in extreme cases.  If diagnosed and treated early on the outcome is a speedy recovery.  it is quite common according to vetinary books as well as wikapedia.com in puppies as this is passed on from Dam to puppies during whelp.  Most common affected area’s been the face, chest and paws.  All dogs carry this form it is only certain dogs at certain times in their life can become over run,  useually this can be brought on in times of stress (going to boarding kennels)or as i have said when the dogs imune system is at a low (when in whelp, after an operation or some other clinical problems which causes the imune system to drop).
